Doctors are warning that the number of accidents involving kid’s trampolines has doubled in the last decade.

The Irish Association of Emergency Medicine says six out of ten accidents happen when children aren’t being supervised.

The association recommends only one child at a time should use a trampoline.

And it says adults who consume alcohol before trampolining often “bounce” themselves into an accident.

The IAEM has issued the following safety guidelines:

  • only one child at a time should use the trampoline
  • children should be supervised by an adult at all times
  • trampolines should be surrounded by appropriate safety netting
  • the trampoline should never be used while under the influence of alcohol
