Average house price sees greatest rise in 21 months

The average house price rose by £2,500 in February – the largest monthly rise in 21 months.

The latest House Price Index from LSL Property Services/Acadametrics shows that the average price climbed to £257,951 – a new record high.

Alongside this, monthly sales are set to reach 66,000 – another record, as the highest February total since 2008. House sales in January and February were only 12% below the average in the decade before the credit crunch.
