Czech aviation investigation into plane crash that has left two Irish men seriously injured

Czech Republic air accident authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the crash which left two Laois men critically injured. In a statement the Air Accident Investigation Institute confirmed to the Leinster Express that on Tuesday, October 24 at approximately 10:43 UTC, the Evektor-Eurostar 97 was found near the village of Nižkov. Its two occupants had suffered serious injuries. It confirmed that men were hospitalised. For confidentiality reasons it declined to comment on the extent of the injuries suffered. Th AAII said it had retained airplane debris from the crash site and will carry out an investigation. It intends to interviews of witnesses and participants and a police accident will be conducted. Rescue 116: HSA investigation opens possibility of prosecutions

A third State agency will investigate the loss of four air crew in the Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116 helicopter crash off the north Co Mayo coast in March. The Health and Safety Authority is now working with An Garda Síochána on a joint investigation that will result in a file being forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Four Irish Coast Guard air crew – Capt Dara Fitzpatrick, Capt Mark Duffy, winch operator Paul Ormsby and winchman Ciarán Smith – died when their helicopter collided with Blackrock island on March 14th. The bodies of the two winch crew are still missing. The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU), which has ruled out mechanical fault in its preliminary report, is still the lead investigating agency. Driver was four and a half times over the drink driving limit

The driver of a car which was involved in a collision which killed himself and another driver was four and a half times over the legal drink driving limit, an inquest has heard. Kevin McClintock (32) of  Dundrean Park Galliagh, Derry and Orla O’Reilly (34) of Meadow Gate House, Carnamoyle, Muff died in a head-on collision at Killyverry, Newtowncunningham on November 13th, 2015. Boy injured in quad bike accident settles for €125k in damages

  A young man who fractured his skull when he was hit by a quad bike on a farm when he was only 12 years old has settled his High Court action for €125,000. Mr Justice Kevin Cross said Eoghan Gaffeny had suffered a very nasty injury when he was struck by a quad bike being driven by somebody who "had more bravado than sense and who was playing chicken." The 12-year old boy was hit by the quad bike which went out of control and he was thrown in the air before falling to the ground and striking his head. It looks like his injury is going to impact his upcoming out Ed Sheeran has given an update for fans after news spread that he had been knocked down by a car. The incident is said to have happened this morning, when Sheeran was cycling down a London street before the accident occurred. Three people killed in skydiving accident in Australia

The three skydivers, believed to be in their 30s and 40s collided mid air and their parachutes failed to open. One of the bodies was found by a resident in their back garden after the accident when he fell to the ground. The other two bodies were found in a tree nearby. It is reported that a female diver was was tandem diving with an instructor when they crashed into a solo skydiver mid air. An eyewitness told The Cairns Post that he could see that one chute was tangled and it wasn't opening. But this week his manager Sabine Kehm gave fresh hope to fans of the F1 star when she used the word "we" while discussing plans for a museum honouring Michael's achievements.
